Adding Captions or Subtitles in Avid Media Composer

This video will show you
step by step how to add closed captions to your videos
with Avid Media Composer. Log in to your
3Play Media account. From the Upload Media
tab, select From Computer. Choose your source video
file and follow the on-screen prompts to specify turnaround. You’ll receive an email when
your captions are ready. From the My Files page,
select your recording, click Download, and
select the Avid DS Subtitles or EBU-STL format. Save the caption file
to your computer. Open your video project in Avid. To add captions
to your file, open the Effect palette and
select Generator, Subcap. Drag Subcap onto the video
track in your timeline. Open the Effect Editor and
click Import Caption Data. Select your EBU-STL caption
file, and click Open. You can edit the styling and
position of your captioning in the Effect Editor. You can save your
styling for future use by selecting Edit
Global Properties and saving your style sheet. When you’re happy
with your project, export your file in a
caption-supported format. We hope this video is helpful. For further details, please
