Avid Media Composer Fluid Morph

In Avid Media Composer you can use the Fluid
Morph effect to hide jump cuts within your sequence. Check out this example. “Please Check out the rest of the gallery,
ummmm we’ve got some really cool pictures, our ummm library is very extensive, we’ve
got 70 or 80 plants and it’s growing.” I’m going to cut out the sections where he
says ‘ummmm’ to clean up his dialogue a bit. Just mark in and out points using the ‘I’
key for an in point, and the ‘O’ key to mark an out point around the unwanted area. Then press the ‘X’ key to extract the section. Do the same for the other area where he says’
ummmm’. Back up to the front of the sequence and press
the space bar to watch your edits. You’ll notice there are now two jump cuts
resulting from the areas removed. To fix this, navigate to the effects palette
within the Project window. Look for the Illusion FX category. Find the FluidMorph effect and drag it onto
the first transition point. Now press the effect mode button. Within the effects editor window, change this
pull down menu to video stream. Change the duration of the transition to 3
frames. Then press the render button. You can fix the second transition by dragging
the same effect from the upper left corner of the effects editor window. Go ahead and click on the render effect button
for the second transition. Okay, that’s it! Back up to watch the final result. “Please Check out the rest of the gallery,
