Dozens of musical instruments donated to Niagara Falls students through Music is Art

MORE STUDENTS IN NIAGARA FALLS CAN NOW TAKE PART IN MUSIC CLASS THANKS TO MUSIC IS ART. THE FOUNDATION HAS DONATED MORE THAN 20 THOUSAND DOLLARS WORTH OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS TO FIVE SCHOOLS. MUSIC IS ART WAS FOUNDED BY GOO GOO DOLLS BASSIST ROBBY TAKAC. THOUGH MANY STUDENTS WON’T GO ON TO PLAY PROFESSIONALLY MUSIC TEACHERS SAY LEARNING HOW TO PLAY AN INSTRUMENT WILL ENHANCE THEIR LIVES IN MANY WAYS. ((REALLY GOING TO HELP, ALLOW STUDENTS THAT NORMALLY WOULDN’T BE ABLE TO PLAY BECAUSE WE HAD RUN OUT. NOW THEY’LL BE ABLE TO TRY OUT AN INSTRUMENT THIS YEAR.)) ((UNFORTUNATELY MUSIC AND ART IS USUALLY ONE OF THE FIRST THINGS TO BE CUT IN SCHOOL BUDGETS SO THAT;’S WHERE WE TRY TO STEP IN AND DO WHAT WE CAN TO HELP AND WE’RE PROUD TO HAVE PUT OVER A HALF MILLION DOLLARS WORTH OF INSTRUMENTS BACK INTO OUR COMMUNITY SO FAR.))
